Terms of use

These terms cover reader accounts on Tech Debt Weekly, published by Literally AS, Oslo, Norway. Reading the site needs no account; creating one means you accept these terms.

Your account

An account here belongs to Tech Debt Weekly only. It is not shared with any other publication. You sign in with GitHub, Google, or a link sent to your email; there is no password. You are responsible for the email address and provider accounts you use to sign in. You can delete your account at any time from settings; deletion is immediate and removes your votes, bookmarks, and sessions, and clears your comments.

Comments

Comments are public and shown with your display name. By posting a comment you grant Literally AS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display it on Tech Debt Weekly for as long as it stays published. You keep any rights you have in what you write. You can delete your own comments; a deleted comment that has replies is shown as a placeholder without its text.

Acceptable use

Do not post anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, or that infringes someone else's rights or privacy; no spam, no advertising, no automated posting, and no attempts to disrupt the service or other readers' accounts. Votes are a soft signal, and gaming them is a breach of these terms.

Moderation and closing accounts

We may hide any comment and close any account, with or without notice, when we believe these terms have been breached or the law requires it. Anyone can report a comment through the contact form; we act on reports within 48 hours.

If the blog changes hands

Tech Debt Weekly may be sold or transferred as a business. Reader accounts and comments would transfer with it, and the new owner would take on these terms and the privacy policy for the same purposes. You would be told before any transfer, with time to delete your account first.

No warranty, limited liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, Literally ASis not liable for loss arising from your use of it or from other readers' comments.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; material changes are announced on the site before they apply. Norwegian law governs these terms, and the courts of Oslo have jurisdiction, without limiting rights you hold as a consumer where you live. How your data is handled is described in the privacy policy.
